Elevated ESR

I recently had an upper respiratory tract infection and my doctor said that my ESR was high. What dose this mean?
It just means that your infection has not subsided yet. ESR is a non-specific marker for infection or an inflammatory process. Once the infection subsides, the ESR will come back to normal. I would not worry too much about this test- it is often elevated for many other reasons. Just drink ample fluids and rest.
