Iron for PMS

Can iron be used to treat PMS?

PMS is a difficult disorder to treat. There are thousands of therapies for this disorder because no one knows exactly what causes it and how to treat it. Most doctors prescribe pain medications and/or antidepressants. Almost everything under the sun has been used to treat this disorder. Now researchers say eating foods containing iron may help. The best advice I have for you is to eat a healthy diet rich in vegetables, fruits and protein. You may try adding zinc (8 mg), iron (18 mg) supplements, and see what happens. However, I would not hold my breath.

By the way, take a laxative as well as iron causes severe constipation.
