Inconclusive test

Last week, my doctor sent me a report saying that my pap smear was inconclusive. What does that mean?

It simply means that they cannot confirm the diagnosis. When labs values and pathology reports are not clear, we tend to say inconclusive. This means you have to have the test again or undergo another more sensitive test.
